John extended his thanks to the local community after this year's annual Fun Walk raised £110,000 for nearly 100 projects.
The total broke last year's record total of £100,000 and takes the total raised since the fun walk's inception in 2002 to £844,000.
At the presentation ceremony each project received £53 for every £100 raised in sponsorship.
Mr Baron said "The 2016 Fun Walk has been a huge success and out bonus pot sponsors have been integral to the success. Our thanks go to Swan Housing Association, c2c Rail, Butyl Products Ltd., AbellioGreater Anglia, Hallmark Care Homes, Private Ambulance Service Ltd., IFE Global Logistics, Leonardo (formally Selex ES), Mr Barrie Stone and others. Our thanks also go to Barleylands Farm for hosting the walk and to Hallmark Care Homes for hosting the presentation evening, to our 'Family of Volunteers' and to many others who have helped including our marshals and accountants Hunt Smee and Co.
Next year's walk will take place on 21st May at Barleylands Farm. All are welcome."
